From May 28 to June 21, the space of Empower Art &Artists Association, within the deGalben hub, located in Piața Amzei no. 13, becomes part of the BDF GO! circuit, inviting the public to discover a flexible and accessible way of engaging with contemporary art. Conceived as a living space in constant transformation, EmpowercArtists_Space aims to support young and emerging artists while also creating an open framework for meaningful encounters between artists, audiences, and cultural professionals.
The program brings together works by both established artists and names already active within the contemporary art scene. Beyond its exhibition format, the project emphasizes participation and interaction through the collaborative art installation Play My Painting II by multidisciplinary artist and founder of the Grădina Ideilor collective, Maia-Ștefana Oprea.
Inspired by a garden in perpetual transformation, the charcoal composition, created on a large-scale canvas measuring 4.2 × 2.2 meters, combines organic forms, layered gestures, fluid lines, vegetal fragments, and spontaneous traces that simultaneously evoke growth and erosion, intimacy and collective presence.
Throughout the exhibition, visitors are invited to interact directly with the work. Each participant may draw a card containing instructions that suggest a particular form of intervention: to add, erase, continue, or interrupt, while simultaneously observing and responding to the existing gestures and contributions.
OPEN DOORS functions as an invitation to proximity and dialogue within an urban context where alternative cultural experiences are gaining increasing relevance. Guided tours organized every weekend, a community dinner, and participatory activities further reinforce this direction, proposing a more direct and relaxed relationship between audiences and contemporary artistic practices.
The event officially opens on Thursday, May 28, between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM, with a free public opening reception. The program continues with a community dinner on May 31 and a series of guided tours taking place every weekend throughout the duration of the project.
Through this initiative, the Empower Art & Artists Association contributes to strengthening an independent cultural infrastructure dedicated to collaboration, artistic visibility, and interdisciplinary dialogue. OPEN DOORS proposes a model of accessible and permeable space in which contemporary art becomes a tool for connection and collective reflection.
