“CECI N’EST PAS POP”: Ioan Augustin Pop’s Exhibition on Post-Industrial Worlds and the Realities of Recent Transition

From 23 May to 18 October 2026, the exhibition CECI N’EST PAS POP, dedicated to the artistic practice of Ioan Augustin Pop and curated by Nicoleta Coman, can be visited at the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Bucharest.

Bringing together works from several series created by the artist over the past twenty-five years, the exhibition offers a perspective on an artistic research process focused on the imaginary of a post-industrial world and on the realities of recent transition. By reclaiming and transforming fragments of everyday life, Ioan Augustin Pop creates images of strong visual and conceptual intensity that explore themes such as identity, alienation, and forms of survival within a constantly changing social context.

The exhibition can be visited in the Auditorium & Cafeteria spaces, located on the fourth floor of the museum.
