The BSBSA project hosts the first artistic intervention in the series, created by artist Jana Danilović (Serbia) in Bucharest, Romania. Street art enthusiasts are invited to attend several key events: a workshop and an artist talk by Jana, as well as a presentation on digitization processes in street art by Liljana Radošević.
“The design I propose for Bucharest is essentially a reference to Romanian street art in terms of color and idea. I used some of my favorite motifs, sparrows and cyclists. Thus, it seems that the tour between Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria starts with my mural in Bucharest. This is really exciting for me because Romania has a very vibrant, strong and diverse street art scene, and it will be a real honor to go and paint a mural in Bucharest. My work there refers to the local scene through colors, because what impressed me the most about some of the Romanian muralists and street artists is the way they use color. In a much bolder and more interesting way than I usually do, so it was a challenging but very fun assignment, and I’m looking forward to doing it. In terms of the project, I’m also very excited about the idea of rethinking and revitalizing certain public spaces through the use of the mural and art in public space in general.” – Jana Danilović
Jana Danilović, appreciated for her vibrant and evocative murals, will paint her first mural in Bucharest, in the Iancului area. During the same period, she will hold a workshop and an artist talk for street art enthusiasts. These interactive sessions offer a unique opportunity for participants to deepen their artistic vision and techniques, getting information directly from one of Serbia’s most prominent street artists.
After Jana’s talk, Liljana Radošević, researcher and member of the Civic Association “Kruna”, part of the BSBSA project consortium, will present the digitization processes in street art and the outstanding VR exhibition produced in previous projects of the “Kruna” organization. This presentation is part of an ongoing collaboration with the “Kruna” Association and is included in the Romanian Street Art program.
