This fall, the Cluj Cultural Center returns with a new Cultural Mediation+ series, online workshops promoting cultural education and mediation through resources and practical tools. The workshops, held between September and November 2024, are designed to facilitate dialogue and continuous education of professionals in the cultural field and to bring good practices and creative approaches in cultural mediation and related practices to the fore. Participation is free and is done by filling in an online form. The event is open to all interested in learning about current practices in cultural mediation, education and pedagogy.

Five online sessions will explore varied and engaging topics, with cultural and educational experts as guests:
- Bats between Myth and Reality – September 26, 2024, 4:00 p.m.;
Ana Stamatescu and Szilárd-Lehel Bücs will present the fascinating world of bats and their role in preserving cultural biodiversity by exploring colonies in heritage buildings and the importance of education in this context. - Metakitchen – October 3, 2024, 4:00 p.m.;
Brîndușa Tudor and Anca Nechita-Cioarec (Stardust Architects) will present Metabucătăria, an innovative concept at the intersection of architecture, sustainability and crafts, in a contemporary key. - Cultivating Presence: The Role of Immersive Technologies in Shaping Museum Experiences – October 10, 2024, 4:00 p.m.;
Maria Shehade and Theopisti Stylianou-Lambert will debate the impact of immersive technologies in creating immersive museum experiences and how they redefine cultural interaction. - Are there eco-critical approaches in children’s art? – October 17, 2024, 4:00 p.m.;
Iulia Iordan will explore ecological themes and participatory approaches in contemporary Romanian children’s literature. - Schools of Sustainability – November 6, 2024, 4:00 p.m.;
Eva Stein (Haus der Kulturen der Welt) will share the methodologies and tools developed at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, providing an insight into the educational work of one of the most important European cultural institutions.
Mediere+ Virtual Library, an important resource for the future of continuing education in the cultural field.
The Cultural Mediation+ workshops will constitute the first resources of the Mediere+ Virtual Library, an innovative digital platform that will support the continuous education of cultural professionals. The Virtual Library will offer free access to a vast collection of educational materials, including workshop presentations, case studies, podcasts made in collaboration with Radio Romania Cultural, and various publications, guides and articles dedicated to cultural mediation. The official launch of the library will take place during the sixth edition of the Cultural Mediation Forum, organised between October 29-30, 2024, in Cluj-Napoca, Railway Park Pavilion.
Cultural Mediation+ is a Cultural Mediation Forum satellite program organized by the Cluj Cultural Center. Launched in 2021, the program complements the Forum’s theoretical, methodological and policy discussions and explorations with a series of meetings with a solid practical dimension, where inspiring working models, tools and projects are explored. Mediere Culturală+ provides resources and training to support the exchange of ideas and good practices between diverse cultural communities and institutions, helping to strengthen a network of professionals in this sector.
Academia Schimbării is a platform created by the Cluj Cultural Center that supports and increases the capacity of the cultural sector. The Academy’s agenda includes training and mentoring programs for artists, cultural managers and cultural organisations, cultural mediation programs, artistic residency programs, scholarship access programs and resources for culture, cultural research and advocacy actions for developing public policies in the field of culture.
The Cluj Cultural Center is a non-governmental culture and sustainable development organisation that manages programs to develop the cultural sector and increase the impact of culture in society in education, health and well-being, and urban and rural development. The centre has 134 members: cultural institutions and organizations, universities, civil society and business associations, the local and county administration of Cluj. The Center’s network includes 40 schools in the Community of Schools, 12 municipalities in the Remarkable Romania network, 36 European cities in the Culture Next network and over 60 national and international partners.
