Until September 6, 2026, Jecza and Himera galleris in Timișoara present the fourth edition of their annual Summer Show, Almost Already Tomorrow, a project dedicated to new generations of contemporary artists and curated by Norbert Filep.
The exhibition brings together 23 emerging artists, selected through an open call that attracted more than 300 applications from across Romania. The project continues the commitment of both institutions to discovering and supporting contemporary artistic practices at the beginning of their development.
The curatorial concept stems from the way we perceive time in a world defined by constant acceleration. The present becomes the past the very moment it is perceived, while the future seems to have already begun. Within this framework, the exhibition explores the relationships between artists of the same generation and the ways in which they respond to the transformations of an ever-changing reality.
As Norbert Filep writes in the curatorial text, “Almost Already Tomorrow reflects the nature of time in constant flow—time that is yet to come, yet has, in essence, already passed the moment it is consciously perceived.” The space between what has been and what is yet to come thus becomes a territory of reflection and curiosity, where the present continuously appears and disappears in the rhythm of everyday life.
The exhibition can be visited at Jecza Gallery (Calea Martirilor 51/52), Thursday through Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and at Himera (ISHO U1), on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays by appointment. Every Saturday at 4:00 p.m., Jecza Gallery hosts guided group tours led by the gallery’s mediation team, offering visitors the opportunity to experience the exhibition through discussions that explore the relationships between the works and the project’s conceptual framework.
