Bog’Art Foundation invites the public on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 7:00 PM, to the opening of the NEW WAVE ART PRIZE Finalists Exhibition, a project dedicated to supporting the new generation of contemporary Romanian artists, hosted by Sandwich Neurohope (13 Pechea Street, 5th floor, Bucharest).
The exhibition will be on view from July 9 to August 30, 2026, bringing together works by the eight artists selected through this year’s competition: Alexia Besnă, Ana Huțanu, Carla David, Dana Guzu, Daria Sălăjeanu, Radu Gheorghe, Rebeca Ionescu, and Rebeca Ulici.
Now in its second edition, the NEW WAVE ART PRIZE was open to undergraduate and master’s students in their final years at art universities across Romania. From a total of 55 applications, a jury comprising Lorena Breaza, Bogdan Doicescu, Mihnea Mircan, Daniela Palimariu, Ștefan Sava, and Catinca Tabacaru selected eight finalists, each receiving production funding to realize the works presented in the exhibition.
Through this initiative, the Bog’Art Foundation reaffirms its commitment to supporting emerging artists and contributing to the development of Romania’s contemporary art scene.
This year’s theme invites participants to reflect on the relationship between humans, technology, and the artistic process through a series of essential questions: How do we construct our identity in a world where the boundary between the real and the virtual is becoming increasingly blurred? How is the artist’s creative process changing? Is Artificial Intelligence merely a tool, or can it become a creative partner? Can technology understand emotion, or can it only simulate it?
During the opening on July 9, the jury will also announce the three winners of the NEW WAVE ART PRIZE 2026, each of whom will receive a €2,000 cash prize. The finalists’ exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to discover the research directions and artistic practices of a new generation of Romanian artists whose work explores the impact of technological transformation on identity, creativity, and the human experience.
