From June 11 to June 28, 2026, Studio 76 Gallery in Bucharest presents More Than Human, an exhibition bringing together artists living and working in Romania, Austria, Denmark, and the United States, all members of Grădina Ideilor (Garden of Ideas) collective: Elena Berlo, Genu Berlo, Ioana-Teodora Duță, Johannes Wiener, Lucian Muntean, Maia Ștefana Oprea, Mihaela Gelca, and Oana Tudose.

“Born out of sustained dialogue, collaborative research, and ecological reflection, the exhibition proposes a perspective in which nature is no longer understood as an external object, but as a living field within which human existence is already embedded. Bringing together painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, and moving image, the works unfold across multiple scales and temporalities—from microscopic matter to geological duration, from embodied perception to deep ancestral memory.

The exhibition opens a space in which perception is both slowed down and expanded, and where the boundary between body and environment becomes permeable. Collectively, the works suggest that matter carries memory, while form resists closure in favour of continual becoming.

Ultimately, More Than Human proposes a shift in orientation: from separation to interconnection, from observation to participation, within a shared world that is in a constant process of becoming more-than-human.” (exhibition text)

Grădina Ideilor (Garden of Ideas) is a contemporary art collective initiated in Nucșoara, Argeș County, in Romania’s Făgăraș Mountains. Developed around ecological reflection, collective research, and site-responsive artistic practices, the project brings together artists from diverse disciplines through gatherings in nature, dialogue with local communities, and collaborative forms of artistic exchange.
