On Friday, September 18, 2026, at 6:00 PM, Gallery Studio 76 will host the opening of “Marmaris”, a duo show by Genu Berlo & Călin Vasilescu, curated by n+1.
“Marmaris takes its name from the resort town on the Turkish coast, a place that has become synonymous with the idea of escape — water, light, warmth, time standing still. Genu Berlo and Călin Vasilescu start from this geography of pleasure to construct a body of work in which painting and sculpture themselves become a form of escape: color, gesture, and matter articulate, in an abstract register, the longing for the exotic, for the horizon, and for a fully deserved rest. […] The exhibition offers the public an experience complementary to the vacation itself — the works do not illustrate Marmaris, but translate, through abstract means, the physical and emotional sensation of escape: the dense warmth of color, the fluidity of forms, the weight and lightness of sculptural matter. It is an art that settles alongside the desire to leave, to relax, to experience beauty without purpose — and amplifies it.” (exhibition text)
The exhibition can be visited from September 15 to 27, 2026, at Gallery Studio 76, located at the Combinatul Fondului Plastic.
