On Wednesday, July 22, at 6:00 p.m., the first cultural mediation and philosophical practice workshop will take place as part of the photography exhibition Ceau, Cinema! 13 – UNLEASHED CINEMA, hosted by Casa Artelor – Pygmalion Gallery. The event is part of the Travelling Echoes project and marks the beginning of a series of 20 free workshops that will be held in various art spaces across Timișoara until November 15. Offering an alternative way of engaging with art and fostering self-discovery through dialogue, the sessions are facilitated by specialists in cultural mediation, philosophical practice, and philosophical counseling: Anca Tiurean, Alex Boca, Luiza Alecsandru, Manu Anghelescu, and Raluca Iacob.

Travelling Echoes aims to contribute to audience development and the education of future artists by responding to the need for meaningful dialogue around contemporary art in Timișoara. Between July 22 and November 15, the project will present 20 cultural mediation workshops based on reflection, creative practices, and critical thinking in several art venues throughout the city, alongside one presentation and two performance art reinterpretations. The workshop facilitators—all experienced in philosophical practice and cultural mediation—will introduce participants to new ways of engaging with art while encouraging self-exploration through group dialogue.

For art students, the project includes a performance art module scheduled for October, featuring Maria Sârbu, art critic, art historian, and lecturer at the Faculty of Arts and Design. At the conclusion of the project, a workbook compiling the exercises developed throughout the workshops will be published. The publication will be edited by Alex Boca, cultural manager and coordinator of the FOCUS – Critical Thinking Workshops program.
