“Visuality and materiality. Three poses of the image”, the exhibition dedicated to the artists Sorin Ilfoveanu, Adrian Ilfoveanu and Nicu Ilfoveanu, has been extended.

GLORIÆ Art Gallery, the first independent art gallery in Craiova, has extended the duration of the exhibition “Visuality and materiality. Three poses of the image”, dedicated to the artists Sorin Ilfoveanu, Adrian Ilfoveanu and Nicu Ilfoveanu.

The premiere exhibition of the three artists together was opened on November 21, 2024, and was seen by thousands of contemporary art lovers. At the request of the public, the exhibition will remain open until March 27, 2025, when the launching of the exhibition catalogue will take place, coordinated by the curator Ruxandra Demetrescu.

The exhibition spans all the spaces of the gallery, including the inner courtyard and the pavilion. It includes paintings and graphics signed by Sorin Ilfoveanu, sculptures by Adrian Ilfoveanu and photographs by Nicu Ilfoveanu. The curatorial concept emphasizes new poses of their creation in an exciting dialogue between the austerity of the large drawings painted on Sorin Ilfoveanu’s monumental canvases, the haptic force of Adrian’s bronze sculptures and the poetic dimension of Nicu’s photographs.

“What unites the three artists seems to be the recourse to a deep cultural layer that revisits the European cultural heritage, from the evocation of the phantasmatic Levant, a constant thematic in the master’s work, to the classical mythology reconverted into the sculptor’s universe, to the fragmented diary in the photographer’s images,” declared the curator Ruxandra Demetrescu.

GLORIÆ Art Gallery is located in the historic center of Craiova, on Alexandru Macedonski Street, no. 49 and can be visited from Tuesday to Friday between 12:00 and 18:00, Saturday between 12:00 and 16:00.
