The opening of “Permanent World Encyclopedia” art exhibition – A success in Reșita.

The cultural platforms Arta Prezentului and Empower Artists successfully inaugurated the “Permanent World Encyclopedia” exhibition project, a national cultural initiative. The exhibition, hosted by Banatul Montan Museum in Reșita, brings together the works of eighteen young and emerging artists, exploring diverse artistic mediums.

Artists: Roxana Ajder, Adrian Buda, Mihaela Coandă, Iulian Cristea, Călin Dumitrașcu, Iuliana Hlihor, Dariana Ilie, Andrei Ispas, Ana Lupu, Andreea Mihalka, David Miholcsa, Moga Dan Marius, Ada Muntean, Oana Năstăsache, Raluca Pavelescu, Iulia Pușcașu, Daniel Semenciuc, Codruț Zele.

“In his vision of an informational prop with permanent access to all, H.G. Wells had broadly sketched, long before his kind, the current dynamics of the Internet in the form of a global encyclopedia.
In such an interconnected world, whose lexicographical story lies every day in our pockets at a click away, current artistic practices seem to articulate in a symbiosis with these systemically constructed spaces. The new encyclopedias have metamorphosed from the voluminous lexicographical works that once filled the library shelves into hybrids whose interface has become immaterial, calculated and instantly accessible in the form of a digital magic incantation. Their permanence flirts with an intrinsic dynamism, continuously exploited under the aspect of new and new additions to enrich the current encyclopedic perspectives of the digital space. Thus, the obtained informational ensembles most often become valuable sources for new generations of artists, from which variegated programs operating on multiple levels are organically developed.
The present exhibition aims to reproduce a fragment of this vast collaborative encyclopedia and includes the practices of eighteen young and emerging artists, whose perspectives range from traditional oil painting to research integrating artificial intelligence.”, said Norbert Filep, curator of the exhibition.

“We are pleased to announce that the event was met with great interest by both the local and specialized media, which emphasized the importance of this project in promoting the young generation of Romanian artists. We also enjoy the responsiveness of the public, who appreciate the diversity of the exhibited works and the innovative approaches of the artists.
To continue to stimulate creativity and community involvement, we invite you on September 17 to two free creative workshops dedicated to children, supported by Livia Mateiaș. These workshops are an excellent opportunity for young people to explore art in an interactive and creative setting. Livia Mateias has extensive experience, having over 200 creative workshops held in various contexts, including public spaces, art galleries and even refugee centers.”, mentioned Angela Izvercian, the initiator of the project.

The exhibition can be visited at the Banatul Montan Museum in Reșita until September 29.
