The exhibition presented by Galeria Roz/ Pink Gallery at the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant, Tancred Bănățeanu Hall, brings before the public the events carried out by the gallery in isolated natural spaces to which the public does not normally have access.
The artists Andrei Ciubotaru, Cristian Lolea, Lucian Iordan and Cătălin Udrea found a way out of everyday life and conventions by building Galeria Roz. This mobile and autonomous structure is assembled every time in an expressive natural environment, far from what we know, which means that space is generically called a white cube.
“A neutral, dedicated space can be conducive, but exposure to nature, with its power and sincerity, initiates the dialogue as a landmark of great value. These movements in the unaltered areas are more than ecological gestures; they are also a multidirectional relationship that involves rethinking the human-nature relationship. We seek an authentic dialogue between a unique natural space and an artistic intervention. Galeria Roz comes, in fact, itself an object exhibited in the great gallery of nature.” , mentioned Andrei Ciubotaru, the author of the Galeria Roz concept.
Why pink? Red expresses vitality, while pink is an attractive result that hides the softening of an energy that is hard to bear. Apparently, pink contains a tone that can cause relaxation. And this is where the contrast comes in—the pink of the structure in a rough setting. Saved by the rules, man cannot bear insecurity, even though he knows they give peace.
Exhibition can be visited until April 7, 2024.
The projects were carried out with the support of Filip Alexandrescu, Vlad Basarab, Vlad Calboreanu, Ioan Paul Colta, Bogdana Contraș, Virgil Gudiu, Doru Melinte, Tudor Mircea, Eliana Negrici, Tudor Oancea, Eugen Pană, Floarea Peia, Gabriel Simionescu, Cătălin Strugaru, Răzvan Suma.
