This year, Romania celebrates 150 years since the birth of Constantin Brâncuși, internationally recognized as the father of modern sculpture. On this occasion, the Sculpture Section of the Union of Fine Artists of Romania in Bucharest is organizing a series of artistic events through which the sculptors’ community pays tribute to and expresses its gratitude for the creative legacy established by the great artist.
The central exhibition, entitled “After Brâncuși,” will open on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 6:00 PM. Curated by Réka Csapó-Dup and Victoria Zidaru, the exhibition brings together works by:
George Apostu, Cătălin Bădărău, Titi Ceară, Florin Codre, Vlad Ciobanu, Ștefan Radu Crețu, Darie Dup, Claudiu Filimon, Ingo Glass, Vasile Gorduz, Peter Jacobi, Gheorghe Iliescu Călinești, Peter Jecza, Ovidiu Maitec, Bata Marianov, Laurențiu Mogoșanu, Ion Murnu, Paul Neagu, Alexandru Papuc, Alexandru Păsat, Neculai Păduraru, Adrian Popovici, Cristian Răduță, Victor Roman, Liviu Russu, Sava Stoianov, Napoleon Tiron, Paul Vasilescu, Marian Zidaru.
The exhibition can be visited at the Romanian Cultural Institute in Bucharest (38 Aleea Alexandru) until February 23, 2026. Subsequently, the exhibition will travel to the Cluj-Napoca Art Museum (30 Piața Unirii).
The project “Brâncuși Month,” now in its sixth edition in 2026, is organized by the Sculpture Section of the Union of Fine Artists of Romania in Bucharest, with the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute, under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture.
