The group exhibition “Nothing Belongs Entirely” at Scemtovici & Benowitz Gallery brings together works by undergraduate and graduate students from the National University of Arts Bucharest – Painting Department (class of Professor Petru Lucaci) and Fashion Department – exploring the fluid boundaries of contemporary artistic expression and the ways in which different artistic practices intersect, influence one another, and resist being confined to a single discipline. The project emphasizes experimentation, the artistic process, and the hybridization of visual languages, providing an open framework for exploration and collaboration.

“Fashion and painting share a profound and complementary relationship: one is the art of enhancing the individual, while the other reflects their value. Both practices have roots in ancient times and have traversed different historical epochs, constantly adapting to cultural and social contexts without losing their expressive power. Throughout history, they have functioned as essential forms of representation, identity, and memory, continuously redefining themselves.”
Through the presented works, the young artists explore how the human body exists at the intersection of materiality, image, and concept, inviting the audience to discover a shared territory where disciplinary boundaries become permeable. The exhibition thus becomes a space for reflection on contemporary artistic practices and how they can coexist and communicate beyond traditional classifications. The exhibition is intended for both the general public and professionals in the fields of art and fashion.
