Night of the Museums: 20th Anniversary Edition.

On May 18th, Night of the Museums will mark its 20th edition, a cultural event that will take place simultaneously in several cities across Romania and other European countries. Also known as the European Night of Museums, this initiative offers the public the opportunity to explore various cultural institutions in a nocturnal atmosphere.

Night of the Museums is organized by the National Network of Museums in Romania (NNMR) and has become, over the past two decades, a landmark event in the Romanian cultural landscape, attracting nearly a million visitors annually. The event will take place throughout the day on May 18th, continuing until late into the night.

The 19th edition in 2023 was organized in collaboration with cultural institutions from the Republic of Moldova and involved over 360 museums and cultural spaces from 90 localities in Romania and 9 others from the Republic of Moldova, covering 38 counties and 5 regions. In Bucharest, 65 cultural attractions, including 34 museums, design festivals, and art galleries, participated in the event.
