From 9–11 July 2026, the Dimitrie Leonida National Technical Museum will host the first chapter of InventART, a program organized by the NeoArt Association that explores the intersections of technology, art, and innovation through conferences, exhibitions, film screenings, artistic interventions, guided tours, and educational activities for children.
The program opens on Thursday, 9 July, at 6:30 PM with the InventART Conference, moderated by Anca Boeriu and Andreea Sandu, project coordinators and curators. The evening continues with a selection of Ars Electronica films, presented by Andrei Popov in partnership with the Austrian Cultural Forum. Speakers include Alexandru Berceanu, Lorena Cocora, Aural Eye Studio, Ana Negoiță, and Răzvan Dan Mic. The event will be opened by Laura Albani and Marilena Nedelcu, representing the Dimitrie Leonida National Technical Museum and the Electrica Foundation.
On Friday, 10 July, at 6:30 PM, visitors are invited to the conference Applied Forms of Imagination: Creativity in Art and Science, moderated by Horea Avram, followed by the opening of the InventART Exhibition.
The conference brings together artists, researchers, and professionals from the creative industries, including Horea Avram, Dan Mircea Cipariu, Ciprian Ciuclea, Dan Adrian Ionescu, Alina Rizescu, and Andreea Sandu, for a discussion on how creativity can build bridges between art, science, and emerging technologies.
The InventART Exhibition features five multimedia installations commissioned specifically for the project by Aural Eye Studio, Alexandru Berceanu, Lorena Cocora, DAI – Dan Adrian Ionescu, and RIZI Studio. Using digital technologies, the works transform the museum’s technical heritage into an interactive contemporary experience, highlighting the history of invention and the achievements of some of Romania’s most influential innovators.
During the exhibition opening, the museum will also launch its new permanent multimedia trail for children, dedicated to invention and innovation. Visitors will be able to join guided tours of both the exhibition and the new multimedia trail, while free workshops for children will take place on Saturday, 11 July, starting at 10:30 AM.
