“In Heaven and On Earth”| Group Exhibition marking the opening of the Scemtovici & Benowitz Gallery

The contemporary art gallery Scemtovici & Benowitz, located in a house from the beginning of the 20th century, opens to the general public on Friday, December 16, from 6 p.m., with the opening of the collective exhibition ” În cer și pe pământ/ In Heaven and On Earth “, curated by Raluca Ilaria Demetrescu.

The exhibition brings together works in a variety of mediums made by 20 established and emerging names of the Romanian contemporary art scene: Adrian Sandu, Alin Carpen, Anca Boeriu, Andrei Tudoran, Beaver, Dana Catona, Daniela Vîrlan, Diana Oțet, Ioana Stelea, Lilian Theil, Liliana Basarab, Mihai Scemtovici, Olimpiu Bandalac, Otilia Boeru, Patricia Teodorescu, Radu Carnariu, Raluca Ilaria Demetrescu, Ruxandra Tudoran, Răzvan Botis, Sergiu Chihaia.

“The Scemtovici & Benowitz Gallery is a creative space of the current era, with spearheads thrown into the future, a place for young creators, and a useful laboratory for observing what was created before and laid the foundations of what we are today. Amid the (dis)order of post-disciplinarity and eclecticism within art forms, in the (meta)gallery space dedicated to contemporary creation, we want to connect decency with daring, to host artists who challenge truths, to open (new) paths for some unjustly forgotten in their studios, as well as for the established”, say the representatives of the Gallery.

The exhibition “In the sky and on the earth” can be visited until February 15, 2023. Admission is free.

Location: Scemtovici & Benowitz Gallery, Jean-Louis Calderon Street, no. 34, sector 2, Bucharest.
