The ” EIGHT FOR CLUJ” exhibition, hosted by Meron Gallery in Cluj-Napoca, brings together eight Romanian artists: Ion Achitenie, Marius Barb Barbone, Gentiana Bota, Arthur Bota, Crisan Ștefan, Ferenczy Botond Tamás, Perca Mihai and Florin Samoila.
“The covered subjects capture layers of emotions and perceptions that shape unique artistic identities. The works bear the imprint of intense experiences – love, introspection, faith and self-searching – all harmonized in a balance between fine details and bold accents. Sensibility thus becomes the core of this exhibition, a central element that defines the space of communion between artists and viewers, between individual visions and shared values.
In this context, the artists assert their unique voice and vision, personally contributing to the exhibition’s overall theme, not limited by pre-established styles, themes or techniques, but sharing an affinity for exploring a common territory – the commitment to authenticity. Beyond the friendship that unites them, the exhibition brings to the fore an artistic dialogue in which stylistic contrasts and varied techniques enrich each other, building a special visual and conceptual texture. This artistic “network” reflects the depth of the connection between tradition and experiment, between academicism and spontaneity, thus deepening the meanings of belonging to the Romanian cultural space.
“Eight for Cluj” amplifies the multitude of perspectives on the human condition, bringing to light diverse perceptions on love, faith and identity. The exhibition transforms the Meron Gallery into a meeting space of deep sensibilities, where personal aesthetics merge with the universal dimensions of experiences, reflecting the complexity of contemporary art and the value of authentic artistic commitment.” (Press release)
Admission to the Meron Gallery is free, and the exhibition is open to the public until December 18, 2024.
