Galateea Contemporary Art opens the contemporary jewellery exhibition – “CONNECTIONS” – on Friday, 9 December, starting 5 p.m.

Jewelry, often perceived as a body adornment or a status symbol in society, has become a symbolic object, a collector’s item with sentimental value.

The “CONNECTIONS” project, curated by Georgiana Cozma, is centered around the concept of connectivity of the artist’s expressiveness with the surface and reduced form of the jewel and its communication with the wearer. In this way, the human body becomes the reference point for the artwork, creating a relationship between the wearer and the jewellery.

The exhibition presents the versatility and attractiveness of ceramic material, moulded or cast, used alone or in combination with other materials, with chromatic and structural variations, be it clay, stoneware or porcelain. The integration of ceramic elements in contemporary jewellery manages to surprise through the creative solutions offered by the artists.

The exhibition can be visited until 29 January 2023. Free entrance.
