Laborna hosted the group exhibition Born to Draw, curated by Ciprian Paleologu, from April 23, until May 9.
“The expression “Born to do something” implies the involvement of destiny, as a deep accent, in the existential path of a person.
The metaphorical inscription of Drawing somewhere in the creative DNA of the individual, marks an almost obsessive preoccupation with how it can be used as an expressive medium and the desire to research its visual and conceptual boundaries.
Drawing is, to a large extent, the blood system in the body of the arts, with a vital function. It becomes at the same time a project, a sketch, a work, a plan, a sign, a warning, etc.
The desire to decipher this phenomenon made us initiate the project together with the artists: Ciprian Paleologu, Radu Pandele, Adrian Preda, Raluca Pavelescu, Valeriu Șchiau, Ștefan Ungureanu, Bogdan Vlăduță.”
