ELITE ART GALLERY launches the sixth edition of the visual art competition #FRESH, an event dedicated to contemporary artists. The competition does not impose thematic directions, the artists being free to participate with their representative artworks.

#FRESH is addressed to visual artists who express themselves mainly in painting and graphics (including mixed media, watercolor, multiplicative techniques, etc.).
#FRESH aims to increase the visibility of the selected artists in the art market and offer new opportunities to develop their careers. All artists over the age of 18 are allowed to participate.

The jury is composed of graduates of the Center for Excellence in Image Studies – CESI of the University of Bucharest. Their dissertations are based on case studies from national and international curatorial practices, they are already active in various curatorial projects, art festivals, etc., being therefore a team that already has expertise in the field. The projects developed by CESI graduates have an out-of-the-box approach. They propose curatorial strategies, selections, and innovative methodologies, and this will translate the winning projects into formulas and perspectives connected to the demands of the international art market, and anchored to the new theoretical directions specific to cultural studies. Exhibitions can generate a platform dedicated to professionals in the field, which will connect young curators and artists through practical projects.

The exhibitions will be promoted through media partners, in the online art shop of the gallery, and through affiliated international platforms. At the end of the exhibitions, the gallery will select for its heritage a work of art from the portfolio of each exhibiting artist, a work that will be promoted and exhibited in other cultural contexts.

The registration period is between October 15 and November 15, 2022, and the jury will select the winners between November 16 and December 15. The Jury will select 4 artists. Elite Art Gallery will offer two exhibition periods in the following year:
I. January 10 – February 3 (two artists)
II. August 2 – August 28 (two artists)
