Call for Volunteers for the “Going Digital” cultural project. Extended application- September 12

The Empower Art & Artists Association seeks volunteers for the “Going Digital – Embracing New Visions and Perceptions of Art” project, which the National Cultural Fund Administration co-financed. The volunteering program will take place between September 15 and October 15, 2023, in four crucial cities in the country: Bucharest, Brasov, Constanta, and Arad.

By participating in the internship, the volunteers will contribute to developing and implementing the cultural project “Going Digital – Embracing New Visions and Perceptions of Art” through the support offered during the exhibition events. Volunteers will also work in a dynamic, stimulating environment for personal development and gain experience in a complex cultural project.

Responsibilities:
– Participating in attracting as many and varied audiences as possible to the project’s events;
– Involvement in setting up the exhibition space in signaling events (through display, information, etc.);
– Picking up people participating in events (spectators) from the access areas and accompanying them to the venue of the event;
– Distribution of promotional materials for the event’s cultural activities, such as stickers and the exhibition brochure among the public, etc.;
– Taking photos and filming during events, as well as organizing and archiving them;
– Supervision for the smooth running of the event (participation in technical or logistic assistance, necessary in case of unforeseen circumstances);
– Other specific activities to organize cultural events.

General skills and competencies required: communication and relationship skills; resistance to physical and intellectual effort; willingness to work in a team; sociability, adaptability, initiative; good organizer, open attitude; ability to convey information correctly and to deal with unforeseen events.

The volunteer activity during the seven days of the event will be at most 3 hours/day. At the end of the volunteering period, upon request, program participants will receive certificates certifying the number of hours worked and the type of activity performed.

General conditions of participation:
– minimum age 20 years;
– flexible schedule;
– state of health corresponds to fulfilling the duties specific to the assumed internship.

Important! Volunteer activity is considered professional and/or specialized experience, depending on the type of activity, if it is carried out in the field of completed studies.
While participating in this project, the Empower Art & Artists Association will not bear the volunteers’ expenses for transportation, accommodation, per diem, communications, social or medical insurance.

About the Empower Art & Artists Association
The Empower Art & Artists Association aims to support and promote artists and specialists in the field of visual arts by carrying out projects that highlight the artistic potential in Romania.
The association opened a series of projects with the online publication Empower Artists, which examines the artistic manifestations on the Romanian art scene, referring to the international context.
In parallel, the Empower Art & Artists Association started a mapping project of exhibition spaces in the most important artistic centers in the country: Bucharest, Iași, Timișoara, and Cluj. The result of the research – a work-in-progress – offers the public the opportunity to discover the most relevant art spaces in the country by accessing the Spaces section of the magazine.

About the “Going Digital- Embracing New Visions and Perceptions of Art” project
The project brings to public attention the need to inform, educate, engage, and captivate the general public about new media technologies, encouraging dialogue around contemporary media art and how the viewer experiences art. At the same time, the project creates a favorable framework for developing empathy, understanding, and appreciation of new visual communication tools. It contributes to consolidating the artistic community in ​​digital art and new media.
