RAD Sculpture Park 2026: “CO-LAC” – Contemporary Art as a Space of Coexistence and Reflection

RAD Sculpture Park opened to the public on April 16, 2026, in the gardens of CARO in Bucharest, located on the shore of Lake Tei. Titled “CO-LAC,” this year’s edition brings together over 60 artists and more than 100 works, proposing a new direction in the exploration and presentation of contemporary art in public space.

Having become one of the most visible and accessible formats within RAD Art Fair, Sculpture Park continues to expand its experiential dimension, transforming the exhibition space into a setting dedicated to interaction, reflection, and shared time. The 2026 edition goes beyond the simple placement of artworks within the landscape, constructing an active dialogue between art, nature, and architecture.

The curatorial concept, developed around the prefix “co”—suggesting collaboration, cohabitation, and connection—reconsiders the relationship between viewer, artwork, and environment. Sculptures and installations are conceived as meeting points between human and non-human, natural and constructed, contributing to a fluid experience open to interpretation.

The works are organically integrated into the park’s landscape, highlighting its biodiversity and inviting a slower, more attentive form of contemplation. In this context, the park becomes an open space where each artistic intervention contributes to a larger whole, turning the visit into an experience of discovery and reflection on the role of contemporary art in public space.

At the same time, “CO-LAC” introduces a critical perspective on the relationship between humans and the environment, suggesting a shift from an individualistic outlook to one based on interdependence. The metaphor of the “lifebuoy” (colac) acquires symbolic meaning here: on the edge of an urban lake, art becomes a potential tool for reconnection and coexistence.

The project brings together a wide range of artists from Romania and the international context, including: 111invers1, Andrei Arion, Justin Baroncea & Cristian Matei, Cătălin Bădărau, Vlad Berte, Alina Bobeică, Raul Bratu, Dan Cebotari, Mirela Cerbu, Sergiu Chihaia, Anetta Mona Chișa, Nicolae Comănescu, Deniz Constantin, Ștefan Radu Crețu, Iulian Cristea, Andrei Costache, Alexandru Dascălu, Misha Diaconu, Matei Emanuel, Emil Cristian Ghiță, Mihai Grecu, Andreea Grigoraș, Andreea Ilie, Adrian Ilfoveanu, Ana Ionescu, Șerban Ionescu, Costin Ioniță, Albert Kaan, Barbara Kapusta, Ana Ion Leonte, Toma Libotyan, Florin Magda, Ionuț Marin, Bogdan Matei, Marta Mattioli, Ilie Maxemciuc, Liviu Mihai, Lucian Sandu Milea, Mihaela Moldovan, Vlad Olariu, Radu Panait, Ana Pascu, Daniela Pălimariu, Răzvan Pîrcălăbescu, Alexandru Ranga, Bogdan Rața, Nichita Rădeanu, Cristian Răduță, Rebeca Rădvan, David Sandor, Körei Sándor, Aureliu Savin, Menyus Szabo, Irina Tănase, Ovidiu Toader, Mihai Toth, Alina Tudor, Rebeca Ulici, Teo Vasilescu, Vertebra, Jorinde Voigt, Judith Wagner, Andreias Welther, Nives Widauer, Florin Zhu.

The fair brings together contemporary art galleries from Romania and abroad, structured into two main sections: GALLERIES, dedicated to established galleries, and PLATFORM, focused on emerging galleries and young curatorial initiatives.

The program is complemented by a series of related events, including talks, a curatorial symposium, and exhibitions, offering the public a broad and accessible perspective on contemporary artistic practices.

Admission to the exhibition is free, and it can be visited until May 15, 2026.
