Opening | “Retinal Vertigo”.Solo Show Radu Oreian at Art Encounters Foundation

Retinal Vertigo marks Radu Oreian’s first major solo exhibition in Romania in the past 15 years, following a series of exhibitions and projects successfully presented in Italy, France, and the United States. Curated by Diana Marincu, the exhibition brings together paintings and drawings that explore the relationship between image, materiality, and perception, with references to miniature painting and art history.

The opening will take place on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 6:00 pm, at Art Encounters Foundation (46C Take Ionescu Blvd., Timișoara), in the presence of the artist and the curator. The opening will be followed by an Artist Talk & Guided Tour on Saturday, January 24, starting at 5:00 pm.

Radu Oreian (b. 1984, Târnăveni, Romania) lives and works in France. His practice focuses on the classical media of drawing and painting, exploring how history, ancient myths, and visual archives shape our understanding of humanity. His works construct a dense, meditative visual imprint, existing in a pulsating state between tension and relaxation. He is represented by 1969 Gallery, Eduardo Secci Gallery, and Gallery Nosco.

The exhibition will be on view until March 21, 2026, from Thursday to Saturday, 12:00–6:00 pm.
