“Reality has been suspended…Pending instructions”, the group exhibition opened at Laborna gallery, from October 3 to 24, brought together the works of seven Romanian artists: Ovidiu Morar, Ciprian Paleologu, Adrian Piorescu, Adrian Preda, Ștefan Ungureanu, Bogdan Vlăduță, Andrei Zăhan.

“What could happen when the ensemble, which was comfortably projected as reality, is suspended… or maybe questioned in a repetitive way, sometimes even with notes of aggression? Extensions of post reality / post-truth, neoreality, pseudoreality type are increasingly present, in the context of “new realities” built by technological / informatics systems, but not necessarily to replace reality but to put it between brackets (to suspend it).

Does the suspended reality create clones, or does it produce contradictory forms in time detached from the basic notion? How do we react in this context? Do we choose different realities every day that are comfortable for us, like interchangeable menu selections? Do we withdraw/ hide inside personalised projections? Do we simulate complex utopias for our “lost place”?
