The group exhibition / (RE)FORM, organized by UNArte students at UNAGaleria, “explores the border between figurative and abstract, approaching uncertain representation using recognizable forms and by distorting reality. This relates, in general, to both figurative aspects and representations of reality in abstract works. In these parameters, the abstract form removes the direct representation of objects from reality but retains a connection with their essential geometric form, thus emphasizing the object’s essence
The exhibition proposes a visual journey in which the boundaries between the figurative and the abstract are blurred, and the forms transform and merge. The artistic approach tries to emphasize the fluidity and permeability of the borders of the two approaches. We want to challenge not only visual perception but also critical thinking about how we perceive reality and how it can be transformed into visual expressions.” (Excerpt from the exhibition text)
