Between September 30 and November 1, 2024, Elite Art Gallery hosts the exhibition Gardens, orchards and fallows, by the artists Marian Dobre, Codrina Ioniță and Andrei Rosetti.

The exhibition Gardens, Orchards, and Fallows meditates on the relationship between nature and man, a perpetual game between creation and abandonment. The three spaces, so different yet connected by the invisible thread of time, invite us to reflect on the world around us and the place we occupy.

“The garden is a place where man meets nature in a silent alliance, and the earth, in turn, responds to him with fruit. This corner of the world, born of chaos, is furrowed in the image of our desires. Instead, the universe of the orchard lends itself to the song of the seasons, where nature takes its natural course. Notched by the burden of years and fruits, the trees rise towards the sky, carrying an ecosystem marked by cyclicity. In the orchards, patience is rewarded, and the fruits are gifts of an enduring relationship between humans and plants. But then, the fallow leaves this natural rhythm and gives rise to a linear time marked by change, abandonment and regeneration. An earth that is left to sleep, to (re)build itself from its own fragility, a force that human intervention cannot control,” said Roxana Diochețanu, art historian.

In this (in)dependent system, the exhibition becomes a subtle dialogue between creation and archetype, between surveillance and abandonment that frees the earth. For every blade of grass, tree, and solitary patch of land, lurk questions about time, about our relationship with nature, and about what it means to create and leave behind.

The exhibition can be visited between September 30 and November 1, 2024, from Monday to Friday, at the Elite Art Gallery (Piața Națiunile Unite, no. 3-5), between 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
