After a successful first edition, with over 3000 visitors, 20 participating galleries, a 5000 m2 sculpture park, 17 guest speakers, RAD Art Fair is preparing for the next edition.
The second edition of RAD will feature galleries from all over the country, but also internationally, presenting diverse artistic and curatorial approaches, from emerging artists to already established artists, alongside an exciting program of talks and workshop and gallery tours, parties and workshops .
RAD 2024 adds new sections with the intention of deepening the discussion of the role and implications of art and design in the contemporary world.
For four days, between May 16-19, 2024, the public interested in art and professionals active in the contemporary art scene will meet at CARO, Bucharest where over 30 galleries and project spaces from Romania, but also from outside the country, will present works in various mediums, from painting, sculpture and video to installation and performance. The second edition of RAD will bring together Romanian artists alongside experts of the art scene, presenting the pulse of Romanian contemporary art, but also the international context that surrounds it.
RAD Art Fair launches the call for proposals from galleries interested in participating in the second edition of the fair and introduces a new section – PLATFORM, dedicated to young galleries and project spaces, which are invited to apply with solo or duo presentations.
The call is open to galleries in the country, but also to international spaces, as long as they include at least one Romanian artist in the selection for the fair.
Applications can be sent between November 22 and December 20, and participants will be chosen by two selection committees: MAIN and PLATFORM.
The selection criteria include the quality of the curatorial program, experience, relevance and expertise in the art market, but also the relevance and quality of the proposal for the fair. Although the age of the gallery is not a criterion, applicants must already have a consistent gallery program open to the public, as well as a minimum of four exhibitions per year.
Applicants can choose the section and the size of the stand they apply for, and a limited number of places will be supported by RAD Association and offered to young galleries or project spaces with outstanding proposals.
All details and conditions of participation can be found on the RAD website.
