The first edition of the contemporary art fair RAD Art Fair brings together 20 contemporary art galleries from Bucharest, Cluj, Timișoara, and Chisinau, with individual or group presentations, collaborative installations, and a sculpture park that stretches over 5000 m2. Overall, the exhibitors present a unique selection of works and artistic mediums, from the most relevant contemporary artists to the most beloved historical artists from Romania.
RAD proposes a collateral program that will include: Presentations and Debates by international art scene professionals and collectors held in the BMW lounge, an Open Air Sculpture Exhibition with works by both emerging and established artists internationally recognized, a Curatorial Symposium with free entry made in collaboration with EUNIC (British Council of Romania, Goethe Institut Bukarest, Institute Français, Austrian Institute) which will also be transmitted online, and a series of Social Activities such as visits by important private collections from Bucharest, a Tour of the Galleries from Bucharest and a Party with free access for the public.
The RAD Art Fair is a long-awaited collaborative initiative aimed at strengthening the core of the Romanian art scene, providing visibility to its artists, galleries and cultural producers, while simultaneously building a foundation for the growth of a healthy art market at the national level.
RAD Art Fair, an initiative of the Artistic Directors Catinca Tabacaru and Daniela Palimariu, is organized collaboratively by the RAD Association through the art galleries Cazul 101, Jecza, Mobius, Posibilă, /SAC, Sandwich, Sector 1, Suprainfinit, and Catinca Tabacaru.
