Share, Tag or Dye Again, the artistic project initiated by the Allkimik Photographic Association in collaboration with the Marginal Cultural Association, will be presented for the first time in Timișoara.
The opening will take place on Thursday, June 8, starting at 18:00, at the Lapsus artist-run space in Splaiul Peneș Curcanul no. 3, 1st floor, studio 23.
The installation Share, Tag or Dye Again had its first exhibition at the Camera gallery in Cluj, it will be exhibited in July at the Experimental Photo Festival in Barcelona and in September at Gallery 2/3 in Bucharest.
Following an Open Call launched at the beginning of the year, 313 artists from 34 countries on 6 continents signed up with links from their social media feeds. Thus, a new collective installation Share, Tag or Dye Again has materialized, that once again asks the question: to what extent can the small contemporary screen, which we all own, reproduce the complexity of a work of art?
At the same time, the art installation probes how much time artists spend promoting their works on social media compared to the time spent in the studio creating new works.
During the opening event in Timisoara, the artistic director of the project, Sabina Suru, will give a guided tour starting at 6:30 p.m. Also, on June 10, between 12:00 and 14:00, a free workshop on alternative photography techniques coordinated by Sabina Suru will be organized.
The workshop, hosted by the Digital:Canvas\ space, is dedicated to the general public of any age, with or without knowledge in the field of photography. The registrations for the 10 available places can be made at the email address: atelierallkimik@gmail.com.
The 2023 edition of the project also includes an extensive research and experiment component, in collaboration with the National Research and Development Institute for Textiles and Leather, alongside Dr. Elena Badea, with a focus on some adaptations of the cyanotype on a series of sustainable materials, developed by the Institute.
The exhibition will remain open until June 20 and can be visited from Thursday to Saturday between 18:00-19:00 or by appointment via message on the Lapsus Facebook page.
Share, Tag or Dye is a project co-financed by the National Cultural Fund Administration (AFCN).
