The exhibition SEARCHING, hosted by Alfa Galleries, part of the “Iulian Antonescu” Museum Complex in Bacău, and curated by Laura Codrina Ioniţă, brings together paintings by Sorin Scurtulescu over the past twenty years.
“This classic medium (oil painting) is limitless even in the era of artificial intelligence,” says Sorin Scurtulescu.
“I think Sorin Scurtulescu’s paintings fit Paul Klee’s thought very well, according to which “art does not render the visible, but makes it visible”. What does this art not render and what does it make visible?” Laura Codrina Ioniţă
The exhibition can be visited until April 9, 2025.
With over 100 exhibitions in his portfolio, Sorin Scurtulescu exhibited, among others, at the Berry Campbell Gallery in New York; SÍM Gallery in Reykjavík, Iceland; Museum Ulm, Germany; Museo Internacional del Barroco in Puebla, Mexico.
