Between the 20th and 30th of May, Romanian Creative Week took place in Iasi, a multidisciplinary artistic event, which brought together the creation of young artists, but also the professionals of the field, in a process of interactive promotion. Emerging artists have been selected to bring visibility, within the cultural scene, to a wide range of areas of the creative industry, such as the visual arts, architecture, music, film, fashion, design, new media, and performing arts.
During the second edition of the Romanian Creative Week the general public had the opportunity to enjoy both outdoor and indoor exhibitions, interactive activities, live music, workshops, film screenings, discussions with artists, and architectural interventions. Visitors were able to get in touch here with all forms of artistic representation, but they could also participate in the creative process through these activities and workshops, the specificity of the event was to bring the audience closer to art.
This year, Romanian Creative Week has expanded its concept of presenting the festival, including, for the first time, six new sections: Arts & Crafts, Content Creation, Creative Entrepreneurship, Design, Innovation & Digital, and New Media.
Within Arts & Crafts, the general public had the opportunity to get in touch with a series of events that included exhibitions, art installations, conferences, and extensive programs with professionals in the visual field.
The Content Creation section can be considered the most complex of this year’s edition, bringing together the content creators of the most creative industries, such as gastronomy, gaming, design, music, and the social media industry.
Innovation & Digital illustrated through events the importance of a strategic approach for the future of the creative industries. It also emphasized the decisive role of inserting technologies into the process.
In this direction, New Media was also held, which proposed to the public two circuits of the exhibition- performative type: NEW MEDIA STREET and NEW MEDIA ALLEY.
Digital Arts were promoted in the cultural environment of Iasi by placing the works in the public space, in the form of a novel concept of the display.
Creative Entrepreneurship helped young people learn more about entrepreneurial success, and the Design section highlighted the importance of the link between caring for the future and fashion design.
This cultural festival addressed a diverse audience, engaging them in various interactive activities designed to increase interest in the creative industries. Moreover, its multi-day deployment allowed visitors to be able to approach the event in all its diversity. The Romanian artistic scene, as well as its position within the European cultural landscape, is promoted thanks to these initiatives to support the emerging values of the creative fields.
Romanian Creative Week is organized by the Federation of Employers in the Creative Industries (FEPIC), founded in 2011 in Iasi.
