MoBU – International Art Fair of Bucharest has opened its doors

Between May 19-28 at Romaero Băneasa in Bucharest, the first edition of the MoBU art fair is being held – the newest contemporary art platform in Central and Eastern Europe.

MoBU – International Art Fair of Bucharest aims to integrate Bucharest into the international circuit of the art market, and offer the general public a complex and diverse experience, an experience of the senses, form and content.

The organizers of MoBU have prepared a multi-functional exhibition pavilion with a design in the latest trends and an area of ​​5,000 square meters where galleries, artist run spaces, groups of independent artists and emerging artists exhibit together.

The event offers the public a complete cultural program from cultural mediation and guided tours, to conferences, concerts, video projections, immersive experiences, performances, happenings and workshops for children.

The special guest of the first MoBU edition is the artist of Romanian origin Daniel Spoerri, a well-known and appreciated artist on the international art scene, with works included in important collections such as MoMA (New York), Tate Modern (London) and Center Pompidou (Paris).
Daniel Spoerri, visual artist, sculptor, university professor in Germany, book author, was born on March 27, 1930, in Galați. In 1942 he took refuge in his native Switzerland with his family, after his father had been arrested and assassinated by the Nazi regime the year before.

The retrospective exhibition Daniel Spoerri. A Moment for Eternity presents to the Romanian public 120 works of the master in Eat Art and Nouveau réalisme.

The event is completed by a group exhibition entitled Taking-off, an initiative through which young artists from Romania and the Republic of Moldova are supported and promoted.
Another MoBU2023 special guest is the French writer Pascal Bruckner, who will deliver the Art and Society conference on May 27.
