The National Museum of Contemporary Art of Romania—MNAC Bucharest—announces the launch of procedure II/2024 for the acquisition of works of modern and contemporary art produced in Romania between 1900 and 1990.
Significant works created by the following are of interest: George Apostu and Lucia Dem. Bălăcescu, Horia Bernea, Massimo Campigli, Victor Ciato, Horia Damian, Sandu Darie, Aniela Firon, Ion Gânju, Val Gheorghiu, Paul Gherasim, Marcel Iancu, Gherasim Luca, Tasso Marchini, M. H. Maxy, Paul Neagu, Mihai Olos, Paul Păun, Jules Perahim, Gabriel Popa, Victor Ion Popa, Aurel Popp, Magdalena Rădulescu, Liviu Suhar, Virgil Teodorescu, Hans Mattis-Teutsch, Dolfi Trost, Lascăr Vorel; or from the work of any other authors who are not included in this list but meet the chronological and value criteria.
MNAC accepts offers from owners, individuals, or companies: collectors, heirs, and/or holders with legally demonstrable full rights. Offers from private commercial institutions (galleries, auction houses, consignments, or any entity that charges sales commissions) are not accepted.
The participation file is sent in digital format, directly or through wetransfer.com, to the e-mail address achizitii.opere.2024@mnac.ro. until 15.09.2024.
*IMPORTANT: Heirs of deceased artists are encouraged to do all the due diligence for preparing succession documents before submitting the participation file. Contact the museum at the dedicated e-mail address if you have any questions.
Submission of offers will be done by completing an application form that will contain:
- Data of the work(s): author, title, technique, dimensions, year of creation, state of preservation, along with clear documentary photos;
- Documents certifying the origin;
- Documents proving the right of alienation;
- If applicable, documents certifying the right of succession, related rights, etc.
