“Tescani Residence” aims to promote an artist by organizing a personal exhibition. This time, the public is invited to enjoy “Italian Paintings”, works signed by Sorin Scurtulescu, which the visual artist made in plein air in Rome, Venice and Milan, using the oil on canvas technique.
The opening took place on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Iasi Art Museum. The exhibition was presented by Laura Codrina Ioniţă, curator, and Ovidiu Ungureanu, project coordinator.
With over 100 exhibitions in his portfolio, Sorin Scurtulescu exhibited, among others, at the Berry Campbell Gallery in New York; SÍM Gallery in Reykjavík, Iceland; Museum Ulm, Germany; Museo Internacional del Barroco in Puebla, Mexico. He has works in the collections of museums in the country and abroad: Museu Serralves – Museu de Arte Contemporânea in Porto, Portugal, Cluj-Napoca Art Museum, Timișoara Art Museum, Brâncoveneşti Palaces at the Gates of Bucharest, Timișoara Metropolitan Cathedral Museum, Accademia di Romania from Rome, Istituto Romeno di Cultura e Ricerca Umanistica di Venezia, Fundacion Casa Europa Mexico from San Miguel de Allende.
“The Tescani Residence” is a project initiated and developed by the visual artist Ovidiu Ungureanu in partnership with the George Enescu National Museum and the Dumitru and Alice Rosetti Tescanu—George Enescu Section, Tescani (Bacău county).
The exhibition can be admired in the Art Museum at the Palace of Culture until November 5, 2024, from Wednesday to Sunday, between 10.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. (access of the last visitor at 4.30 p.m.).
