Glow Up, the latest exhibition project by artist Laura Semenov, was presented at Dalgart, a unique alternative space in the Craiova area, in Dâlga de Jos.

“Glow Up is only in transit here, because its substance is fragile and incompatible with our common familiarity. This proposal lasts only as long as you engage with an open mind and with the appreciation you would have for holding the Voynich Manuscript or the Kryptonite stone from Superman.

There are also figures like David Hockney and his love of light, reflected in the vegetation that sprouts in the Californian landscape. But ultimately, what prevails is an exotic element that operates beyond the conscious mind and a continuous search for it, which rests in the form of this vegetation before us.

Chromatism is a psycho-emotional notion about the possibility of transmitting inner visceral unrest to outside viewers. This should not be understood as frivolous, but rather as a weightless and imponderable proposal that detaches itself from the material ground and floats, freed from the density of reality,” Laura Semenov stated about her own artistic approach.

Laura Semenov is a visual artist with a presence in the art world for 18 years and a PhD lecturer at the University of Craiova, Visual Arts-Painting. Laura graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, Painting, with a PhD in Visual Arts and one in Philology. The artist builds a visual language, which plays with the border between the real and the exotic, developing forms matured from chance. The works are executed in mixed media on canvas.

Dalgart, designed and tailored for artistic projects with personality that ask questions and dare to provoke debates and create dynamic events, was founded in 2015 by Ramona Drăgulescu, Gabriela Boiangiu and Valentin Boiangiu.
