“Digital Desert” is a series of visual metaphors made by Mihai Grecu with the help of artificial intelligence, illustrating imaginary desert spaces where landscapes become allegories. On the border between virtual land art and science fiction, these installations explore the deep but contradictory connection between nature and contemporary technology.

The “Digital Desert” exhibition, hosted by Biju Gallery, is part of the Digital Journeys cultural project initiated by the French Institute in Cluj-Napoca. This project included a series of exhibitions, installations, and meetings that took place between November 29 and December 1 in Cluj-Napoca.
This edition’s theme was insurrection, seen as an exploration of the poetic, ecological, and political facets of the uprising. Drawing inspiration from social change, past or current protests, and ecological mutations, the works of the invited artists reflect collective aspirations.

The “Digital Desert” exhibition can be visited at the Biju Gallery in Cluj-Napoca until December 13, 2025.
