The Cosmic House in Cluj-Napoca hosts the Dictionary of Vagueness exhibition, a solo show by the artist Pierre Baston, open to the public until December 6. The exhibition invites art lovers and those passionate about exploring language and ambiguous meanings in a deep and innovative artistic experience.
In the Dictionary of Vagueness exhibition, curated by Cristina Barsony, the artist proposes a series of collage and sound design works, made between January and August 2024, which explore the theme of vagueness and imprecision, in the context of the limits of language and human perception. Drawing inspiration from the words of Ludwig Wittgenstein – “The limits of my language are the limits of my world” – the exhibition invites the visitor to reflect on the limits and changing meanings of words and how they define our reality.
This is the third solo exhibition of the artist, who lives and works in Cluj-Napoca since 2014 and who has become known for his multimedia projects that combine traditional techniques with contemporary technology. The works in this exhibition explore various interpretations of the ‘vague’ – a defined concept of ambiguity and instability, which Pierre examines in its various forms and dimensions.
