The collective exhibition, “At the edge of the world”, organized by the Art Encounters Foundation in Timisoara, opens the series of cultural events within the ART-UP project, a project that aims to develop the art scene in Romania by supporting artistic production and research while encouraging international collaborations.
The curatorial approach proposed by Diana Marincu, the artistic director of the Art Encounters Foundation, and the multidisciplinary artist, Ciprian Mureșan, invites the spectator to enter the creative space of the thirteen participating artists, captured in drawings and sketches.
Starting from the drawing, each artist explores from a personal perspective, using a specific artistic language, the boundary between the real and the fictional world, between the visible and the invisible, between the public space and the private space in the context of a reality marked by uncertainties generated by two years of the pandemic and, currently, by a brutal war whose consequences are unpredictable.
The artists invited to exhibit their works, most of them conceived even during the pandemic, are young artists from Romania, but also abroad: Andrei Arion, Csilla Bartus, Dan Beudean, Ole Blank, Floriama Cândea, Eduard Constantin, Norbert Filep, Camilia Filipov, Lucia Ghegu, Alexandra Mereuți & Sebastian Danciu, Alexandra Satmari, and Lucía Simón Medina.
The exhibition can be visited until May 29, from Tuesday to Saturday, between 12.00 and 18.00, at the Art Encounters Foundation, Bd. Take Ionescu no. 46C, Timisoara.
