Galateea Contemporary Art Gallery invites the public to participate at the finissage of the exhibition “Limite în/călcate/ Limites in/crossed”, curated by Ana Negoiță.

The closing event, scheduled for Wednesday, September 27, at 6:30 p.m., will be marked by the happening “Cuvinte limpezite/Clear Words,” performed by the artists Éva Andrea Szőcs (HU) and Georgiana Cozma (Ro).

The proposed happening integrates a series of visual, voice, and sound design elements with inserts from the lines signed by Anne Marie Sewell, a fragment of the poem Washing the World.

During the event, the public is invited to participate with the two artists in a type of ritual in the form of a cathartic process, thought by them with the role of probing together in the personal memory of those moments. These words define actions that incorporate different forms of trauma.
The melange between word and gesture forms the conceptual corpus of this happening, the connection between the two being viewed from the perspective of an emotional network that communicates, intensifies, and then discharges each other.

Another element with a symbolic load that will be used as an artistic material during the happening is water, re-symbolized in a contemporary context according to the semantics of the installation “Limite în/călcate” but which preserves the ancestral ritual connotations, on which new interpretations are placed.
