Today, September 23, Art Safari opens its doors for the second time this year. The public interested in art will be able to visit in the Old Center of the Capital “the most valuable exhibition ever made in Romania, in all time” (Ioana Ciocan, general manager of Art Safari), which includes works estimated at 100 million euros, brought to Art Safari Bucharest through a partnership with the “Victoria & Albert Museum” in London, the world’s leading museum of decorative art and design with an impressive art collection covering over 5000 years.
At the press conference organized on the occasion of the opening of the X-th edition were present: Ioana Ciocan, General Manager Art Safari, together with Her Excellencies the British Ambassador in Romania and the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Romania and the curators of the exhibitions: Dr. Emily Knight and Katharine Martin, Dr. Elena Olariu, Raluca Ilaria Demetrescu, and Prof. Univ. Dr. Ioan Sbârciu.
Art Safari autumn-winter edition proposes five new exhibitions at the Dacia-Romania Palace (Lipscani street, no. 18-20), the future headquarters of the Bucharest Pinacotheque:
“Seeking Truth: The Art of John Constable” (A. Victoria & Albert Exhibition – Touring the World, curators: Dr. Emily Knight and Katharine Martin). An exhibition featuring extremely valuable works by John Constable, but also from his collection. British artist John Constable is one of the greatest landscape painters.
“Korean Beauty in Poster Art”. An exhibition by the artist Byoungil Sun, made in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Romania.
“Ştefan Popescu. The story of travels”, curator Dr. Elena Olariu, made in partnership with the Bucharest Municipality Museum – Suțu Palace. Ștefan Popescu is one of the most appreciated painters-travelers of Romanian art.
“Lilian Theil. An old woman who smiles”, curated by Raluca Ilaria Demetrescu. In her artistic practice, Lilian Theil, a 90-year-old Romanian artist, uses the sewing needle instead of the brush and pencil. The artist embroiders unique works of art on textile support in the appliqué technique.
“Mihai Mureșan. Small things” – an exhibition curated by Ph.D. Professor Ioan Sbarciu). Mihai Mureșan, an artist who approaches the exterior and interior landscape, is part of the new generation of painters trained within the painting school in Cluj.
The event will include the educational program “Art Safari Kids”, which can be attended by children aged between 3 and 12 years.

Art Safari, the largest art event in Romania, is a temporary museum that takes place annually and aims to actively participate in the efforts of the artistic community to promote the Romanian heritage and postmodern and contemporary art.
Art Safari takes place under the patronage of Primăria Municipiului Bucureşti and UNESCO Romania and is carried out in partnership with the Bucharest Municipality Museum, the Romanian Cultural Institute, and the National Museum of Art of Romania.
