The Citizenit Association inaugurated in Arad, through the project, “Povești urbane pe calcane”, 10 new murals signed by some of the most famous urban artists in Romania. The event, which lasted three days, included discussions with artists, concerts, parties and outdoor cinema.
Arad has become a festival of color and street art in the last two weeks.
The murals can be discovered in the heart of the city—on Gheorghe Lazăr Street and the Mureșului cliff, in the Decebal Bridge area. Two of them are collective creations made by young people from Arad in the mural art workshop with IRLO. In the same area, three new works signed by IRLO, a double painting by the artists Homeboy and This Lux Easy, and two murals signed by Fum Armada can be seen.
The artists Ocu and Recis returned to Arad and completed two other monumental works that visually enriched Gheorghe Lazăr Street.
This year, the proceedings theme was “Humans vs AI” — “Humans versus Artificial Intelligence,” proposing a debate about the role of artificial intelligence in contemporary society. The artists and the public were invited to reflect on the various perspectives of this controversial and sensitive topic for humanity.
What does it mean to be human in a world where machines can think, learn and create, sometimes even faster and more efficiently than we can? Who owns the reins of AI development and implementation? Will AI serve as a tool for human progress or become an uncontrollable force with its own agenda? These are just some of the questions raised by this year’s murals.
