In the context of the temporary exhibition Emergencies, on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 5:00 PM, the public is invited for a dialogue with artists Lia Perjovschi and Dan Perjovschi, moderated by Bianca-Maria Bălșan, the manager of the Brasov Art Museum. Drawing from the research activities of these two artists over the past 35 years, you will learn more about their artistic journey and the conclusions they have reached.
During this Artist Talk, Lia and Dan Perjovschi engage in dialogue with the local community of artists and art lovers. They share their experiences and provide participants with tools for knowledge, observation, and the development of critical thinking.
The topics addressed in the Emergencies exhibition encompass a series of events that mark global society. Thus, Lia and Dan Perjovschi’s installations confirm the artists’ grounding in contemporary issues. Stemming from their upbringing during the communist era and their status as witnesses to democratic liberation, the artists have reclaimed, through study, research, and exploration, 50 years of contemporary art history from which access has been restricted.
The current socio-political context makes such debates necessary, and the dialogue aims to bring personal and general histories to the forefront, as well as micro and macro-level solutions.
Lia and Dan Perjovschi, born in 1961 in Sibiu, Romania, have had a vast career in art and have exhibited in numerous national and international exhibitions and festivals.
Participation in the event does not require registration and is based on a fee of 10 lei.
