On Thursday, February 9, the opening of the “Tout doit passer/All Things Must Pass” exhibition takes place, hosted by the art space La Cave, opened by the French Institute Cluj-Napoca.

“Tout doit passer/All things must pass” is a group exhibition project curated by Ada Muntean that presents the artistic endeavors of eight young artists concerned with the perishable nature of matter that gives substance to the surrounding reality. The project revolves around the notions of process, existential cycle, birth/death, germination/extinction, evolutionary organic stages, creation/destruction in the context of an unpredictable everyday life.

The figurative elements present in the works: vegetal, organic or anatomical become a pretext for suggesting the temporary, the cyclicality of life, presenting small precious fragments of ephemera.

The corporeality of objects, plant structures or the human body itself – is explored in experimental compositions made in various techniques: oil on canvas, tempera on wood plywood, oil on wood, charcoal on canvas, drawing in hard materials: marble, natural stone , mixed techniques.

The artists thus explore an organic and figurative world that evokes through plasticity the temporal character of matter, describing a metaphysical personal microuniverse as an atmosphere.

“Tout doit passer/All things must pass” is configured as a group project with distinct but complementary visions, which metaphorically creates an observational magnifying glass on the microcosm, the every day and the existential fragments that evoke the cyclicality of life.
