Solo Show “FATUM/ I made this reality” – A Surreal World Sculpted by Radu Tudor Panait

The sculptor Radu Tudor Panait opens a fantastic world in which the grotesque becomes interesting and exploited, with the exhibition “FATUM/ I made this reality” within the event “Promoting art in alternative spaces”, part of the project “Theatre closer to the community (Teatru la GARAJ)”.

In this exhibition, the artist Radu Tudor Panait brings together works that outline an often unfriendly reality behind which we discover profound but intensely documented messages. His exhibition includes a collection of hybrids, “these zoomorphic, supernatural beings, elevated to the rank of deities or monsters”, just as Radu Panait describes them.

The Messenger, the archer, is a wrong laboratory product, which has not achieved its purpose and came out with some underdeveloped wings. So it is doomed to perish. But the hopeful part of this piece is the mask of man, a harpy eagle head, which is the most powerful species of eagle and which, although trained by man, in some cases renounces and attacks its master even after long periods in his service. It is a symbol of hope for a return to freedom.
Another ugly face of humanity I represented in Cheap Thrills, a work that represents the female rhino as a form without substance, like Frankenstein, mutilated by the society in which she lives, giving her horn, which is so coveted by human beings and which has already led to the extinction of certain species. It’s a kind of resignation.” (Radu Tudor Panait)

The public can still enjoy, until the end of the month, the works of Radu Panait. They are exhibited at the headquarters of the New Theatre on Matei Voievod Street, no. 88, Sector 2, near UNATC.
Access can be made before the theatrical performances (https://teatrulnou.ro/) or based on a telephone reservation – 0723.107.100.

The finissage of the exhibition “FATUM/ I made this reality” will take place on Monday, October 31, at 6 p.m.
