Made in RO, an event launched and curated by the editorial platform Designist.ro, takes place this weekend (June 18-19) at Hotspot Workhub, a recently inaugurated space in the Creative Quarter of Bucharest.
Made in RO is an important contemporary design fair that supports and promotes Romanian designers and local creative industries. The projects presented were carefully selected following a call for projects.
This year’s edition, held under the motto #RESTART, marks 10 years since the first fair Made in RO.
The #RESTART edition brings together designers who present their latest creations from object design, home &deco accessories, furniture, fashion design, and fashion accessories, jewelry, and contemporary ceramics, to toys, lighting fixtures, textile design, and decorations.
“In a world where balance is work in progress, and the return to normal has contradicted everything we thought we knew, we recalibrate ourselves and enjoy more what we have. So, after an imposed break, we reactivate creative entrepreneurship in a new edition of Made in RO. Although they did not keep the front page of the news, as was the case with other fields, the creative industries were also hard tried during the pandemic. In the absence of events, some designers have had to restrict their work or, on the contrary, reinvent themselves. We all felt the need for this #restart. We are glad that we were able to add to this edition 10 projects #MadeinUkraine. Ukrainian designers now need all our support.” – said Elis Popescu, founder of Designist.ro & Made in RO, about the XVI edition of the Made in RO event.
The anniversary edition #RESTART also presents the creations of 10 Ukrainian designers who will be present at the event.
During the fair, the visitors will be able to get to know and interact directly with the designers. Most of the creators are participating for the first time and came especially for Made in RO from cities such as Timisoara, Arad, Cluj-Napoca, Brasov, Sibiu, Oradea, Satu Mare, Chisinau, and Kyiv.

Ukrainian designers present at Made in RO: Apelsynova Torba, Côte & Jeunot, Hydrangea, Kalita Jewellery, Logvin, Lolli Beads, Rise Jewelry, Samokish, Teplezh, Tetiana Chorna.
Hotspot Workhub is a recently opened space in The Mark Building, 1st Floor, located on Calea Griviței, nr. 82-98 at the intersection with Buzești Street.
The Made in RO fair can be visited on Saturday and Sunday (18-19 June) between 11.00 a.m – 8.00 p.m.
Access is based on an entrance ticket (10 lei), and for children under 12, the access is free.
