On Saturday, December 13, at 5:00 PM, Anca Poterasu Gallery hosts a special guided tour with artist Megan Dominescu, on the occasion of her new solo exhibition if we lived here, we’d be home by now, curated by Sylvia Monasterios.
The exhibition brings together textile works, paintings, and installations that construct an atmosphere that is both alarming and dreamlike. According to the curatorial text, “overwhelming and introspective narratives oscillate between gravity and absurdity,” while the artist blends heavy subjects with vibrant colors and ironic themes “that are hard to get mad at,” gently disarming the viewer with humor even when prompting deeper reflection.
The guided tour offers a rare opportunity to step into the dystopian universe imagined by Megan Dominescu—a space where unsettling news is reinterpreted through a unique mix of nonchalance, subtle sarcasm, and intense chromatic expression. Through textiles, subversive imagery, and a vibrant aesthetic, the artist transforms unease into curiosity and invites visitors to look at contemporary anxieties with a smile.
Participation is limited to available spots.
