Elite Art Gallery hosts the exhibition “The time (ab)sorbed”, by the artists Ioana Alecu, Iulia Mirică and Oana Sima, curated by Roxana Diochețanu.
Instead of running away, time, this invisible thread that binds our destinies, tells us about what remains and how simple encounters turn into informal rituals. In this context, within the “Time (ab)sorbed” exhibition, the stems of memories emerge in the graphic and painting works proposed by the three artists, revealing fragments suspended between past and present.
Moments are not served in seconds but in coffees
“The exhibition investigates how the stories and experiences of each of us are absorbed in time, an exhibition that allows for the deepening of those human connections, which, often, we have forgotten to preserve in our own timeline. Thus, the idea of absorption refers not only to the preservation of memories but also to that moment when, in the company of a loved one, you become completely present and absorbed in every word and gesture. And what natural moment is more suitable to capture this state than the one when the aroma of coffee intertwines with our thoughts? More than a simple drink, coffee is a binder that brings together ephemeral moments, by giving an eternal character to the moments lived around a tender company. In this ceremony, time dilates, and every second guarantees an archive of visual stories. With a blurred temporal unit, in the presence of a close person, the conversation is absorbed in a space that is built on trust, and each pencil work and the details under the scent of memories offer the opportunity to live those moments in all their intensity.” said Roxana Diochețanu, curator of Elite Art Gallery.
