“Trying to Move Without a Push”. Solo Show Andrei Arion at Kunsthalle Bega Box

The personal exhibition of the artist Andrei Arion, entitled “Trying to Move Without a Push”, is on display at Kunsthalle Bega until September 14, 2024.

“Arion’s sculpture has the ability to convey. It carries ideas and concepts, through a terminal, to an unknown destination. The presence of objects in transit, which appears useless yet aspires to functionality, assists the artist in defining his workspace. Arion introduces the scale of the sculpture between its intended purpose and its ultimate, yet unknown, destination. The shape is digitally designed, cut, hand-sanded, and assembled. The space is touched, traversed, inhabited, and crossed as if through a Gate.

Andrei Arion works with sculpture, installations, and drawing. His inspirations range from games to daily observations of surroundings. These influences help create a unique atmosphere and shape his work. He started his artistic practice by converting boxes into wall pieces, distorting familiar objects into unusable ones.

The project is part of the National Cultural Program “Timișoara – European Capital of Culture in 2023”, and is financed by the Power Station+ | Școli creative program, run by Timișoara Center for Projects, with amounts allocated from the state budget, through the budget from the Ministry of Culture.
