This weekend, Timisoara came alive with “City Celebration”, an unmissable event that filled the city with joy and energy. Between August 16 and 18, the city is where music and culture meet to create memorable moments.
Visitors and residents alike can enjoy exceptional performances by renowned international artists, including Passenger and Rita Ora, as well as various activities and exhibitions. The events are part of Timișoara Heritage 2023 and the National Cultural Program “Timișoara – European Capital of Culture in 2023”.
On August 16, Casa Artelor in Timișoara hosted the 9th edition of “Les Films de Cannes à Timișoara.” Audiences watched a selection of award-winning films at the Cannes Film Festival. The TIFF Unlimited Caravan stopped at Iulius Mall between August 16 and 18! During this period, film lovers had the opportunity to enjoy screenings of award-winning and acclaimed films.
ARChA (Bd. Mihai Viteazu, no. 1b) is the place where, until October 31, the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism exhibits “Future Days”. The exhibition brings to the fore the innovative projects and visions of students, shaping the future of architecture and urbanism.
Yesterday, August 17th, Civic Park was where music and sports met for the “Celebration of the City”! It was sung to familiar rhythms at the Zdop and Zdup concert, followed by Passenger and Rita Ora.
At the same time, the basketball courts in Uszoda (Central Park) and Bd. Vasile Pârvan will host the 3×3 basketball tournament, starting at 9:00 a.m., and FABER has become a splendid location for the “Intertwined Secrets” Festival—Festival of Neighborhood.
Today, August 18, the Riverside Pavilion in the Children’s Park will come alive with “Baroque Watermusic II,” starting at 12:00 p.m.
Also, starting at 11:00, the Water Museum on Calea Urseni no. 26 will host the “Classikid” educational concert dedicated to the little ones passionate about music.
The city’s celebration continues throughout August, with numerous events for the general public. St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church will host a sacred music recital on August 21 starting at 7:00 p.m.
The Citadel organs will resound in this historic setting and provide an evening full of divine harmonies and spiritual emotion. On August 24, at Hall C7 on Boulevard 16 Decembrie 1989 no. 43, “Happy Farm”, a show dedicated to the little ones, will take place. From 11:00 am, children are invited to have fun with cute characters and experience a real adventure.
The following events are part of the general cultural offer of Timisoara. The “Andrei Arion” exhibition can be visited at the Kunsthalle Bega, on Circumvalațiiţii no. 10, until September 14, and the public is invited to discover the artist’s works in a space dedicated to contemporary art, open to the public from June 21.
Codru Festival will open its doors between August 30 and September 1 in Central Park in Timișoara, where the public can participate in 3 days of music and fun in the middle of nature.
